The Franklin Street renovation project in the City of Warren, Warren County, will receive Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding totaling $274,500, according to Senator Scott Hutchinson.
CDBG funding, which is administered by the state Department of Community and Economic Development, supports projects such as housing rehabilitation, pubic services, community facilities, infrastructure improvement, development and planning in low- and moderate-income areas.
The Franklin Street Improvement Project has been identified as a high-priority project through the City of Warren’s continuous five-year community improvement planning process. The project will re-grade the roadway and also provide drainage, subbase material, paving, curbing, sewer, sidewalk and manholes.
“This is great news for Warren,” said Senator Hutchinson. “These grants are another part of the state’s effort to boost economic development and improve the quality of life in our local communities.”
